Maidstone Marathon & Half Marathon
Maidstone Harriers are pleased to announce that the Maidstone Marathon and Half Marathon will return once again in 2016. After an absence of two years the popular accurately measured route returns again to the Kent race calendar with a rural course taking in the challenging lanes in and around the villages of Boughton Monchelsea, Loose and East Farleigh. This will be the 12 th staging of the Maidstone Marathon and 29 th Staging of the Half Marathon and the route uses a single loop for the half marathon with the marathon runners completing a second loop.
There's a unique medal, race memento and free downloadable race photos for all finishers - plus prizes for leading runners and age category winners.
On site you'll find parking, changing and baggage store.
We regret that this course is unsuitable for wheelchair and disabled athletes. There is a 6 hour cut off for the marathon distance

Maidstone Half Marathon and Marathon update:
The Maidstone Half-Marathon and Marathon will not be going ahead on 18th October 2015 as we had hoped.
Sadly, after a lot of hard work by Maidstone Harriers to get the Half and Full Marathon back running on a new course and venue, the committee have made a decision not to proceed with this year's race.
This is because Kent Police have not given their approval to the course proposed. Further adjustments need to be made to the course so we can put the event on next year, and there have already been some preliminary discussions with the Police to ensure they will give approval.
Unfortunately there will be no half-marathon this year. However, the good news is that we are planning to return in 2015 with a new course and a new race HQ, so watch this space for further updates!
The half marathon has been running for 25 years now, and the current course takes in much of the original course when the race was first run in the mid 1980s. Runners head out of Maidstone through Bearsted along the A20, before heading up through the village of Hollingbourne and then onto the Pilgrims Way, before heading back into Maidstone via Bearsted Green. Previous editions of the race have started and finished at Mote Park or Oakwood Park. The current race starts and finishes in Grove Green, with race HQ based at the nearby Valley Park School.
