If you've never run cross country before
then please come along and
give it a try if you can! The Kent Fitness League is specifically for
runners of any ability, and the courses are on average around 5 miles
long. There are individual and team prizes for each race and the season
overall, and in addition there is a free raffle at the end of each race.
There's no need to enter in advance, simply turn up on the day and let
club cross-country captain David Law know you're there, so he can make
sure you name is entered and to collect your £2 entry fee.
Apart from a club vest, you will need either a good pair of off road
running shoes, or preferably a pair of spikes. Locally the best place
for these is Sweat Shop at Newnham Court, Bearsted. The courses are all
off road, and while conditions may be fairly firm in the early part of
the season it's usually a bit more sticky underfoot as the season
progresses, so your regular running shoes will not be sufficient!!
